I’ve kept in touch with our friends at BBC Essex Radio since the completion of the Pirate BBC Essex Radio Project last year, which Ultralab (1990-2006) was involved. (Stephen, Jonathan, Tim, Alex etc etc…)

On BBC Essex Radio is presenter Steve Scruton.

Steve has a feature on his show daily called ‘Tea at Three’.

‘Tea at Three’ is a half hour section of his show which Steve has tea, live on air in the company of a local Essex person who has done something special our outstanding for the Local community.

We all know Ultralab (1990-2006)’s Stan is both special, and outstanding. As part of our Stan’s second retirement, I requested Stan was featured as a guest on ‘Tea at Three’ as an ideal guest. Stan has been an unpaid volunteer at Ultralab (1990-2006) since his first retirement from Industry, over 15 years ago.

Dr. Stan Owers will be the guest on Tuesday 15th February at 3pm – 3.30pm.

Stan will talk about his career, from Fords right through to Ultralab (1990-2006), and how he’s now researching his family tree with his dear wife Mary.

Steve has requested Stan brings his favorite song, to be played on air during the 30 minute interview.

Stan has given so much to Ultralab (1990-2006), and the wider community, this feature on BBC Essex will share locally with our community the achievements Stan has made for industry and education.
