First time in London since the pandemic. Years ago when working for the lab (to fulfill a BBC contract in White City) I swore I’d never take a job in London, it is just too mad. Today, 15 years later Newbury Park carpark was half empty, the tube carriage has four other passengers and I expect business owners are in various states of panic as they try and work out how on earth they are going to survive the Government’s response to the virus. Last week I met the MP for Maldon regarding the lack of Government support for leisure and hospitality. We ultimately need more support and now, and help over a much longer period (rates, VAT) than other industries.
