For those who have messaged, thank you, to all who hosted, excuse the circular update… We’re still moving… different house, but still moving… Last Monday we were told after six months of paperwork and legals the contract exchange would happen on Thursday of the same week. Lots of our stuff is already in storage in Devon, we’ve negotiated schools, and had leaving parties for the kids… we’ve worked to adjust everything, we’ve been unable to book holidays or commit to anything, we’ve been living in limbo…. On ‘Exchange Day’ (last Thursday) Mr & Mrs Watermelon decided to pull out of selling their house (to us (and anyone)) at the very last second… they had decided to ask last minute for a £12,000 discount on their ongoing house purchase because they didn’t like the position of a neighbouring new build house back gate (which they had known about for months)… the vendor said no and the Watermelon’s broke the chain meaning three houses below them couldn’t move… including us.
