I want to express my profound gratitude to Callum for the successful completion of the BBC Box project, which has now been deployed in Northern Ireland. Around 18 years ago, as part of my work that took me across different locations worldwide, I had the opportunity to collaborate on diverse projects, including some at the BBC. During that time, I worked closely with young people of varying ages and abilities in Northern Ireland, engaging in creative endeavors such as television and radio production. In 2020, the team I had collaborated with reached out to me with a budget to create a mobile escape room specifically designed for young people who couldn't attend school due to reasons like bullying, phobias, or suspension. The objective was to offer them a fun activity on their first day back at school, providing a refreshing alternative to the usual monotonous subjects like math and English. The BBC had specifically requested a mobile escape room. Together, we devised a concept for a mobile escape room for BBC Northern Ireland that could be easily transported in the back of a van.
