Thinking back on how devastating Covid was and still is to the businesses. It’s still fills me with enormous anger and frustration with the British government and how terrible they were at dealing with the pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, this business was trading and running community projects. After the pandemic is now closed because it didn’t have enough support and help from the government stepping in with actual meaningful support. When we reopen this business nearly 18 months after the pandemic started sales dropped to 1/3 of what they were before the pandemic, and it was unsustainable, we finally closed it altogether in September 2022. And the premises are still empty. The overall impact of this was that the good causes and projects that this coffee shop was funding, it’s no longer funding. Luke, Michelle and Justina went onto work within the other businesses, but it still feels me with huge sadness, that a business that we built over 8 1/2 years to do good causes was destroyed by the incompetence of others. when you stand in front of the voting booth, please think long and hard about the devastation, this government has caused businesses.
