Braintree and Witham Times · Thu, Oct 08, 2020 · Page M10 By Alex Gidden THRILLS AND SPILLS: The games arena will be based at Newlands Shopping Centre NEW leisure facilities will be set up in the heart of Witham town centre. The Witham Games Arena will consist of an escape room, laser tag centre and virtual reality space, and be set up directly above the entrance to the Newlands Shopping Centre. The laser tag zone, called Laserscape, will be the first to open and will feature a large, state-of-the-art arena with all the latest laser technology. The escape room will be next to open, with bosses saying it is designed specifically for children. It will have a Punch and Judy theme and be based in a seaside setting. The game will be suitable for children aged four and up, but can be played by all ages. Construction is already under way on the escape room but no timeframe has yet been given for when it will open. Plans are also in place to set up a virtual reality space and game room. Know Escape co-founder Matthew Eaves is excited to bring his business to Witham due to his strong links to the town.
